  • We are aware of this issue. The free program we have been using to rip our DVD's has developed a tendency to add these little blips at regular intervals. As soon as National Convention is completed, we will be looking into purchasing a better program and re-compiling our videos.

  • Thie immature vocal technique --shouting--engendered by the conducting is partly due to the rediculously fast tempo. Analysis of the score is lacking. SAD.

  • eh. not the greatest i've heard. nordic choir once again wins that one :)

  • @ltyr2001 Have you ever memorized a Bach motet? I feel like you should try it, then let me know where they have a lack of memory.

  • What an insanely quirky performance. What you do to the word "Singet" throughout the piece is just goofy. Either sing on the vowel, or don't. As I listen to this performance, I find myself waiting for the train to hit the wall, rather than enjoying a well thought out interpretation, good singing or the genius of Bach.

  • "This one, looks like Sven Morlock, an working-kollege..."

    Greetings,...

  • Interesting to see the observation extremes. I would wager the critical extremes are from people who've never stepped up to conduct a choir in this classic work and are of a mind there is only one way to interpret it, the way their choir did. It's much the same for the other extreme of support. For one who has done both, this is a performance of which the singers should be proud. While It may not be perfect in every way, it is an excellent, well-interpreted, performance by Dr. Clausen and choir.

  • @elijahj91 amen

  • The Concordia Choir still never ceases to amaze me, and contiues, in my opinion, to be the Best Collegiate Choir there is! Even after all these years, they are just as amazing.

  • @IUFTR Your comment on the tempo is completely false. Look up any respectable early music choir and you will find they take it significantly faster. I performed all 6 of the Bach motets and we took this quite a bit faster. And this "shouting" you point out is called bringing out parts and important parts of the music. Although they may not have the most professional sound. Their sound is clear and blended and the coloratura is very clean.

  • Careful with the spelling of the word "ridiculous". Thank you.

  • Memorization issues, I have no doubt!
