This updated test rig has my version 2 custom mixer with IR sensor. Testing will continue to find the reason for the crash, and work on the fiberglass model continues.

  • do you make the circuit board/mixer yourself? or do u have an amazing mixer radio??

  • I made an onboard mixer from a Coridium ARMmite processor. Took awhile, but seems to work pretty good. With an onboard mixer you can use a standard 6 to 9 channel radio.

  • What does the IR sensor sense? The distance to the ground?

  • It senses the heat difference between the ground and sky, the ground always being warmer. It keeps the aircraft level. FMA Direct makes it, called the CoPilot.

  • when you swtiched off the sensor,, was the plane on its own without gyros?

  • COOL!! Now it needs wheels [for the landing]

  • Wow, Lots of work. Have you seem my V-22 model. I avoid throttle control with great results. I wander if colective pitch props would do you a world of good? good luck

  • Whoa!
