For THINGS YOU SCRAPE, how about "a child's knees" or "a child's elbow"?
-
Things you SCRAPE is a killer indeed--this would be used in a $100,000 tournament if you ask me.
-
@jtf10570 That would have been zapped, per judge.
-
For that last category, what about "the bottom of the barrel"?
-
Thy almost never showed the copyright year before 1979 that was new
-
That was my first thought too ("A frosted-over windshield").

For the top category, My first clue to her would've been "a little kid's knee..." and if that didn't give it to her right away (which it probably wouldn't have), my next clue would've been "a little kid's PLAYGROUND knee..." The judge would've gotten me out for saying "a little kid's knee AT A PLAYGROUND..." because it is a prepositional phrase, which is too descriptive. :-)
Tough top category! I would have said "Windshield Ice"

I watched this video, covered the answers, and tried to guess.
I would not have guessed "..scrape" from Peter's clues, but I did guess it with "Windshield Ice" added.
So, it is clearly a very good clue.
