@turnonstan Sorry ! I know Grant played with Jimmy Smith a lot. Thanks

Although I'm glad for this song to have achieved the crossover success that it has, I'm honestly somewhat sad to realize that some people only know this song as a hip-hop breakbeat or as a track that has been sampled in numerous hip-hop instrumentals. It's unfortunate that most people don't know about its origins as a funk track, and it's definitely one of the best songs I've ever heard on the musical tip. A very catchy feel that hardly gets old, and a beautiful combination of instruments. Dope.

whats so great about GG is... he is one of the few guitarists that can solo over one chord for several choruses and keep interesting.

@theseventhprotocol That's not Jimmy Smith. It's Ronnie Foster, along with Claude Bartee(tenor) and Idrish Muhammad(drums).

Eis o berdadeiro "funk",não essa baboseira carica, que infesta as nossas cabeças,com letras apelativas e muita traqueira.

If I ever become unmotivated while studying music, I just come and give this a listen.

While this is a Grant Green 'cover" of James Brown's "Ain't it Funky", JB actually took the song"Ain't it Peculiar"and turned it into his own thing...funny that Grant did"Ain't it Peculiar" on a Big John Patton album before JB did his remake...you can hear the horns "say" the riff from"...peculiar" as a reference...
