This video portrays a brief history of aviation in 3D animation. While there are many contributions to aviation that could not be included, this video shows many of the substantial advancements that propelled aviation to what it has become today.

  • Is it just me or are the UVU models way more detailed than the rest? Is it because they used the same model that they used as reference when they built the plane or is it because they want to make you subconsciusly feel that their planes are superior?

  • @pixelkatten All of the models were created with as much accuracy as possible. Most have less detail because the actual subject had less detail. With that said, more time was spent on the "UVU model" because we can reuse it for many other trainings such as engine systems, instruments and more. That extra detail isn't really seen in this video because it is on the inside of the aircraft. There was no intention to make our models better than the others, but that wouldn't have been a bad idea.

  • Jet Engines are missing.... :(

  • @Apocalypto1414 Maybe in the next version :)

  • Beautiful

  • Not bad. I missed Chuck Yeagar and the X1 though.

  • Very nice. A pleasure to watch. Thank you.

  • come on, this is a animation, not a historical video which includes everyone who has done something in aviation... *sigh*

  • where is Yuri Gagarin?

  • Excellent, what about Alcock & Brown. First to fly the Atlantic.

  • @uvuaviation I suspected that the UVU model was reused/was going to be reused. However, note that the UVU model actually has rendered propellers while the rest of the models (except Spirit of St. Louis) only have a particle effect. It's an acceptable way too reduce rendering times, but my point stands. I can accept the lack of minor details on the other models though, and when I rewatched the video I noticed that you actually managed to get some of the more minor details in! Good work!
