just south of the city of buffalo in the neighboring city of lackawanna, lie the remains of the bethlehem steel manufacturing plant, which was once the world's largest steel mill. this video shows what remains after 25 years of abandonment...

  • The spin-off jobs lost due to this plant closure were enormous - it was the largest steel manufacturing plant in the entire world. Bigger than anything the Soviets could produce...and now it and the jobs the plant supported are gone. Think about that for a moment while you wallow in the most severe downturn in the US economy since the Great Depression. Somewhere, somehow, a big wheel of this company sits pretty while the rest of the masses struggle for employment and survival...sad!

  • Greed killed Bethlehem steel and cheap imports..... very sad=(

  • Hail to the new economy, high taxes and no jobs.

  • They are still putting them up. 6 more are supose to constructed this summer.
