Washington American School 2nd Grade ESL Free Talk: New Year's Resolutions and Volunteering

This is a full class from the Washington American School's 2nd Grade ESL class in Taichung, Taiwan, the week of New Year 2010/2011, discussing everything from what we want for ourselves and our community to different techniques for killing cockroaches. While it's a "free talk" class, we often use it as an ethics class - the week before we discussed The Golden Rule and how those with pain share pain with others, discussing how to deal with bullies - I wish I had that one on film...

@wojtekc27 No, it's a Chinese thing. Year One was the year the Republic of China came to exist. As long as the republic governing the island of Taiwan calls itself the ROC, what they do is Chinese.

it is impossible to live life and not kiss animals or plants, if people will understand this they might feel better about their life, the problem is when we do it for wrong reason or usefulness

@amrakanavrin man you got me, you are so right, hehehehehe i love it, heheheh but you know what i mean right, bc in main land china they have a diffrent year and never use 101 as here in taiwan to tell they years. It so funny to me that there r two countries one named the PEOPLE REPUBLIC OF CHINA and another name REPUBLIC OF CHINA. so so so funny
