I'm not so sure. My Bella scratches me, and suddenly, although she adores me and I always treat her with respect. The fact is I think she had many problems as a kitten, before I rescued her from the street. BUT doesn't matter, all cats are wonderfully different and original, and I would advise any mom to have a cat. Why? Because they bring much joy to those who love them, and a child growing with a cat will learn much about love, friendship and respect, even if they scratch now and then ;)
