There has been a lot of hype about these DVD's since I first showed them off on Ponychan a couple days ago, especially now that they have been featured on Equestria Daily. As such, I thought I would clear up some confusion. I did NOT create the menu's - BillyWitchDoctor made them and shared them on torrent - I only used them (and I'm kindly providing a mediafire mirror below). Also, many bronies have asked me to make copies of my DVD's for them, and some even offered to pay me! But due to the legality of that, I'm sorry but I'm unable to share them. However, you're free to do it yourself, and here is a quick run down of how to create your own My Little Pony DVD's. If you get stuck, watch the video for more details on each step.

1) Download all the episodes from season 1 (sorry, but you need to find them yourself)
2) Download and install DVD Styler - http://www.dvdstyler.org/en/downloads
3) Download the DVD Menus - http://www.mediafire.com/?dw1d9o38sd19tpo
4) Download and install DVD Decrypter - http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
5) Open DVD Styler and set up the project properties, then choose No Template
6) Double click the black background to set up the background image and music
7) Drag the episodes onto the bottom of DVD Styler
8) Add buttons for each episode (check which title number corrosponds to which episode at the bottom)
9) File - Burn, but ONLY create an ISO image. This will take some time to complete
10) Open DVD Decrypter, and set the mode to ISO - Write
11) Set the burn speed to 2.4x (or slower), even if your burner/discs support higher speeds
12) Burn and enjoy!

  • First things first: when it comes to stuff like this, I'm an idiot through and through, no matter how tech-savvy I may think I am. So I have to ask you a question: How do you make the font work? I'm trying to make some custom titles for a season 2 disc or two, but I can't figure out how to put letters on the blank episode titles. I tried paint, but when I did that, they were far too small, and I couldn't do it right in the first place (mostly) because copy paste takes the white background.

    Help

  • @Bashfluff You need to download the Generation B font and install it.

  • This is great, my fellow brony! I will definitely make my own first season of the show, but I'd like to ask you if you possibly have some LightScribe-compatible image file available so that we could etch some art into the discs we later create? I'd definitely love going as officially official as I possibly can if I make them, so if they do exist, I would jump with joy!

Please consider it! Thanks, and have a great one!

  • @simon4815 Everything I have was provided in the DVD kit. Sorry, I have no Lightscribe images to share, so you'll either have to find one elsewhere, or make it yourself.

  • How did I get here from Aqua Teen Hunger Force?

I guess it's true - all roads lead to ponies.

  • Awesome I was actually making my own MLP DVD's when I found this XD Glad to see that great minds think alike

  • may i have a link to your wallpaper!? =D

  • @FlutterShy1989

Also, would you consider making your other resources like the Part 1 and Part 2 buttons available, as well as your backgrounds? I'm getting some really high storage DVDs so that I can put 9-10 episodes on one disk and I want to make everything as close to yours as possible.

Thanks I figured it out, though. You can't believe how long it took me to think to search Gen B. Guess that's the downside of staying up until four making DVDs for your friends...

Note to my bronies: if you can't afford gen B, use Celestia Medium Redux. It's not perfect, but it works well enough, as far as knockoffs go. And if you want to make it cool, add some vectors to the blank titles, colorize the titles to fit the episode, and use cool fan-made backgrounds! Mix it up!

  • Note that the Custom DVD Menu Kit (add "pony" to that and Google it to find the kit's torrent) has all the titles on transparencies so you can find the backgrounds (also easily looked up in Google Images) or add different ones you prefer if you want a different number of episodes per disc. Five discs equals minimal compression (only the first disc runs over standard DVD-R capacity). Of course you will need a graphics program for this; GIMP is an excellent freeware alternative to Photoshop.

  • Thank you very much for this video. I'll definitely be making a set for myself.
