  • i find bleach bottles safe to drink. when its plain bleach and not the scented types. when your survivaling outdoors, getting a gallon of like pond water (you can look this up btw) or river water, adding 16 drops of bleach and letting it sit for at least 30 minutes, you are able to drink then said water.

  • @MegaAnonymousfreedom ... Using bleach to sanitize water is wonderful, just a lot of preppers say that storing water in the plastic bleach bottles is the problem. They say that the other chemicals used in making the plastic is harmful and may leach into the water if it is stored for a period of time. I personally would chose water stored in bleach bottles over the water from a questionable source (like a puddle in the yard) any day. But you are right, bleach is a great to purify water :)

  • @watuwaitn4 whats the safe containers for water again.... short term memory kicking in here lol

  • @MegaAnonymousfreedom ... Any plastic bottle that held water, soda, juice, or food is food grade. Also buckets with 2 is food grade. Don't use milk type bottle because they leak over time.

  • Good info, we keep a couple of 5 gallon jugs on hand for when the pipes freeze as they do often because of how our well is set up which is the only water source for our house. Keeping paper plates and plastic flatware on hand helps too.

  • @texasdustfart ... Paper plates, and platic silverware are great, that is something you can never have enough of.

  • We need more women voicing their opinions and perspectives on survival and preparedness.

Great info - thanks for sharing.

  • Our homes are designed for inefficient water use -- all water drains to sewer.

We should have 4 drain systems.

    1. Toilets should go to sewer or septic tank or leech line.

    2. Showers, bathroom sink, should go to a flushing water tank used by toilets.

    3. Laundry should drain to a tank then to solar stills.

    4. Kitchen sink and dishwasher should drain to garden tank.

    5. Garden should be under another solar still to reclaim condensation over night.

  • @borderraven we can't have what they call grey water run off system. we had one for the garden and had to remove it due to township rules. We live ay back a dirt road and still not allowed. We are trying to go green and self reliant and thy still said no.
