@mishere23 "She said, 'I don't know if I've ever been good enough.'" At least that portion of the song isn't about him not feeling good enough. Possibly she not feeling good enough. OR it could be one huge analogy. Regardless, I agree with @Kusuification. The song can mean something different to everyone. For example, today I feel closer to understanding the song than I ever have before.

I think what this song means is that he doesn't actually want to hurt her. He just wants her to feel how he feels, which is pushed around. Maybe she pushes him around, but not physically. Maybe it's mentally. Listen to his first line "I don't know if I've ever been good enough." He probably thinks she's too good for him, and she knows it too. He just wants to have control of her as she does of him.
