I saw Bernard Thomas today (crossed the channel in a coracle in 74) - he still makes coracles in the traditional way using only a knife. You've probably seen his house if you've been to Llechryd: it's got about 3 or 4 of the things outside of it ;)

i'm building a coracle at the moment, sadly not in the traditional way, i'm using split ash and canvas with three coats of tar to watertight the whole affair, i'll try to post a video soon of it in process. i have the frame ready nearly for stain, taken me 3 days to build so far.
