@MinkEyeLashes Thank You this is how I remember it growing up as it happened. The only thing I would have posted different is he was known as "Spider" Sabich a nickname I am sure attached to his Alpine Skiing talents...I was curious about his full name so I used "Spider" Sabich on a Yahoo search that led me to Wikipedia & found out his full name after 35 yrs was Vladimir Peter Sabich Jr. God rest his soul! Thx again for posting more accurate info!

@MinkEyeLashes Actually, if you read the Wiki article you'll find out that she shot her boyfriend in the back while she was high on cocaine. Still, good song.

My mother remembers this song with fondness. She used to gather us around her and tell us how Claudine Longet shot and killed her lover and Andy Williams came to her rescue with attorneys to see it was regarded as an accident. That's real love.

@PeaceNdLovee If you look her up on Wikipedia, you will get the full story. She accidently shot her boyfriend, an Olympic skier. She was previously married to Andy Williams.

Absouloutly no doubt, c'était un homme qui appréciait les choses de qualité et ne pouvait donc qu'apprécier cette chanson à juste titre, comme beaucoup de mélomanes.
