Allappuzha Beach is located in the Allepey district of Kerala, situated 1.5 km from Allappuzha railway station and 90 km from the Kochi International Airport. The waterways are fringed by palm grove and paddy fields. It is one of the very few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. Also known as the Venice of the East, it was here that traders from across the seven seas came in search of black gold and souvenirs. The Kumarakom Backwaters are located 16 km from Kottayam and are one of the most popular backwater stretches in Kerala. It's home to egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian stork.
