@JessOnTheRun Don't be a troll. You are a troll. That means you deliberately insult people over the internet for the purposes of starting a pathetic internet argument with them.
@JessOnTheRun Garfield was innovative, however, the 85 Championship went to the inferior show purely to support a threepeat for the 1st time. SCV was still the king in 85. :-)
@elmomustdie12 then again, you had some moron like marty hurley writing a 1975 book for your percussion and tuning to match... so its no surprise that drums kept you guys out of the top ranks.
@elmomustdie12 yeah, garfield sort of whipped all your asses hard... no one was on the level they were at tempos and time signatures and visual program they were attempting, not to mention an incredible innovative, complex percussion book that was light years ahead of everyone else... but eventually SCV and Phantom jumped on the wave that Cadets started and got with the program that helped you both to move up a bit ;-)
Question to those of you who marched SCV this year--how did you guys keep from crying at the push at 2:45 every time you performed it? That is seriously one of the most beautiful and majestic moments of drum corps EVER. Yeah, I'm a big baby, LOL, but SCV's version of "The Promise of Living" is the best version to ever grace the field.
I marched Regiment in 85. We had SCV pegged to win the title early in the season while we were touring some of the same shows. It was my pleasure to watch this show several times during the season. SCV was the only other corps I would have considered marching back then. Amazing year!!
