  • I can't listen to anybody else do this anymore. Ciccolini is the only person to interpret this without the maudlin-ass Captain Kirk style rubato.

Cool bit of film, too. Very nice.

  • @begrackled Ciccolini is the most expressive and the very best Satie interpreter. I have been deeply disappointed by most of other pianists who play Satie too slowly.

  • The only correct interpreter of Satie I've heard yet.

  • ...to The Green Muse...!

  • pls load up Erik Satie - 3 Gymnopedies (Ciccolini) on vimeo.

  • It is a real and abstract story that passes in front of our eyes, with the sound of these surreal Gnossiennes.

  • @pitikmikmik René Clair - Entr'acte (1924)

  • I absolutely love Anne Queffélec's interpretation as well.

  • A man who actually worked with Erik Satie in the early Twenties, pianist Leo Kok, told me in 1971 that Aldo Ciccolini's interpretations were the best. Many pianists turn Satie's music into melodrama, add pathos, slow down the tempi. Aldo doesn't, he keeps it light.

  • from what movie are those images?
