My bass cover of Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla" song.

I really do like this song and hadn't heard it in a while and when i saw someone cover it on youtube i figured maybe i should try since it's a little harder then my previous songs.

There are a few mistakes and sometimes off timing but overall I think it went pretty well. And ya I know, the solo wasn't that great but i wasn't gonna re-record jsut cause of that, it still sounds decent lol.

And I know the sound quality isn't that great because i recorded it through my webcam which really sucks lol. But maybe in the future, i'm going to get a better recording device and maybe re-record this piece too.

Recorded - September 26th 2008

Equipment
Bass - Epiphone EB3 SG
Amp - Marshall MB30

Hope You Enjoy!

  • Keep practicing buddy. It's cool to see you're taking the time to learn full songs.

A good song for finger practice that I learned early on is Black Sunshine by White Zombie. Dunno if you're a Coldplay fan, but they have lots of fun songs to learn on the bass.

  • Hey, thanks man, and ya, I used to just horse around and make up my own stuff for a while, I really should have started full songs earlier lol.

But ya, coldplay's pretty good, nice and mellow, i'll def try them and i'll look up black sunshine for sure, thanx for the tip :D

  • slow down a little bit and u should be good

  • Relax your arm, stop tucking your elbow in, you look like a spastic. get your thumb perpendicular to the neck should do it. All you fingers are at a funny angle to the fretboard because of it.

  • Study your timing, you´re hitting notes earlier.

  • a little off in the beginning but otherwise pretty cool

  • Not bad, slow down a bit, time it a bit better, try to play a bit smoother, and work on that bass solo. This will help you massively.
