Hello. This is my first video. I am new to You tube, so I will introduce myself. I am Capitalism Is Liberty. I am an anarcho-capitalist. In fact, I'm a proud anarcho-capitalist who resents when like-minded individuals shun the term. For anybody who wants to know what I mean by the term "capitalism," please see the definitions on my channel page.

Since the election of Barack Obama there has been an outpouring of libertarian resistance. Not that I think statist elections matter all that much, but I feel like this is a great opportunity for the anarcho-capitalist movement to gain new followers. The Tea Partyers and the Ron Paul supporters, for all of their flaws, can be won over to our side.

In this video I would like to give a brief history of anarchism and anarcho-capitalism.

Anarchy comes from the Greek words "an," meaning "without," and archon, meaning "ruler." Until the late 1940's the word was misused by a few famous Marxist communists like Michael Bakunin. Some Marxists like Noam Chomsky still use the word in this way. What people like Commissar Chomsky do not realize is that anarchism is fundamentally a pro-capitalist, anti-communist philosophy.

Although I do not buy into the "right versus left" dichotomy, true anarchism would probably be called "right-wing" by the vulgar corporatist. For most of history the word "anarchy" has been a synonym for chaos and disorder. It was first used in a political sense by those who wanted to abolish government. As only common sense would tell you, this is a "right-wing" notion.

The seeds of anarchy were first sown by the Classical Liberals who inspired the American Revolution. The founding of the American Republic and the later Southern War for Independence were both events that exhibited anarchist ideals. However, both events bore the birthmarks of statism. They were, by no means, pure expressions of the anarchist ideal. It was only until the late 1940's, when Murray Rothbard first coined the term "anarcho-capitalism," that anarchy became a true political philosophy. Many anarcho-capitalists call themselves "libertarians," although not all libertarians are anarcho-capitalists.

We now live in a world where the corporatist state is evermore infringing on market freedoms. As anarchists, we must march proudly under the black and gold banner. We must oppose the tyranny of government. We must stand strong for free-market principles. We must take the word "anarchy" back from the socialists and communists and place it rightfully back in the free-market capitalist camp.

Long live individualism! Long live the market! Long live freedom!
