Sexual violence against women and girls has become a signature of the ongoing civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The suffering of female victims, and their attempts to rebuild their lives, is the subject of "Ruined," a play that opened recently at New York's Manhattan Theatre Club. Written by African-American playwright Lynn Nottage,"Ruined" has been praised by critics as "heart-wrenching," "riveting," "beautiful and hideous."

  • This play will be at the Babcock Theatre in Salt Lake City on July 2 - August 7, 2011. This is an absolutely brilliant script, everyone should she this play and be aware of the atrocities happening in the Congo.

  • Monologue from Ruined Lynn Nottages Pulitzer-winning play

  • This production (now showing at Almeida Theatre, London) is heartbreaking to watch but a 'must see' nonetheless!

  • absolutely wonderful play

  • It's so heartbreaking that in this day and age such brutality exists still. This is a fabulous and earth shattering play. In my university directing class, my final project is to direct a scene from this show.

  • Very soul shaking and inspiring.

  • wonderful video , great idea , good luck
