Rob Lowe and Johnson have great voices and are good men indeed.
But,Marcolin's Messiah voice and scene presentation, are the only suitable and appropriate for right Candlemass performance.
I hope, someday, this crazy priest Marcolin, will rejoin his true band!

@Dshtreeriverfuk I agree that the ifrst album is GREAT, but I don't like it as much as the Messiah albums.

@Britton001 your opinion must be ignorant or stubborn. Johan Lanquist was better on the 1st album and Chapter VI's Tomas Vikström was awsome (had a more melodic style, less baritone) too. don't get me wrong i love messiah! You won't here this much (forget the placebo inducing mass-hype) the first 5 (not 4) candlemass albums are essential.

I like all Messiah, Langquist, and Lowe are great vocalist...but I'm afraid Messiah is by far my favorite out of Candlemass singers. That being said I can't wait for is solo stuff to come out! XD

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the self-titled album and I listen to it all the time, but lyrically and musically it sounds nothing like the old Candlemass. Some riffs on there are so close to Sabbath riffs it borders on plagiarism. That being said, the album is still kickass. However, Death Magic Doom returns the band to the darker fantasy lyrics as well as the more epic doom (and less outright Sabbath) riffage of their first 4 albums. It sounds like classic Candlemass.

@BossWorthy In my opinion, their self-title album in 2005 was the best since Tales of Creation, but to each his own. I thought DMD was their second best since Tales of Creation. For the record, I think that DMD is much better than their one album with Vikstrom and their albums with Bjorn.
To me, Candlemass is only Candlemass with messiah on vocals.
