Love it!

I'm 35 and just had my first baby, I will buy the box set of bag puss if it's available and watch it with her including some of the other classics like willow the whisp.
It was somehow magical to watch.
-
i watched this when i was a child, and am now watching it with my son as there's nothing on tv that comes close to it

I think it's wonderful and amazing. It has an elegance and class which modern shows can't even dream of attaining.
But there's something sinister about it...the black and white, the eerie string accompaniments...always scared me as a kid. I never knew if Emily was real or a ghost. Bagpuss himself was terrifying to me. Hahaha :)

@burnzgotshot Oliver Postgate was the neighbour of my father and emily was in my uncle's year.

What a wonderful memory... do kids these days have the same? I don't know, but such a wonder of the amazing imagination there was for us..!! not just bagpuss, but so many others too :)

Oh I remember this!!! I remember watching this and Simon and the land of Chalk Drawings!!! I must have been 5 or 6. I really miss being a child!

A few years before my time but my mum grew up with it, pretty gutted i never got to see this as a kid, only caught the last few years of the clangers and the magic roundabout and what not...
Whatever happened to shows like this :)
Childrens tv today lacks the warmth and simplicity of programs like these.
R.I.P Oliver Postgate the creator of bagpuss.
