A statement about indifference, Global Warming, and pollution:
One night, away from home and standing out on my niece's patio, I was looking up at the stars and the Moon. The shadows and craters that lie on the moon's surface created a face that I found fascinating, an optical illusion of a smiling moon, and a moon that's mouth seemed to be an "O" like he was caught in surprise or disappointment. I could not stop thinking about the face I had seen, and hence the poem was born. You will find below the complete poem, not broken up with images. Peace, Love and hugs to All of you.

Among the stars, I saw the Moon
smiling down at me.
Wispy clouds slowly crossed
his glowing eternal glee;
I wondered what had brought
to him a grin that never departed?
And thought about the view he's
had since before time as we know started.
Across the miles that separate my shining
friend with his mirth
He watches, never failing, the turning
of the Earth.
Blue and green, golden brown, ever spinning on it's
way,
With little tiny folks going to and fro,
that never stop, be it night or day.
Ever watching, the antics of the two legged beings that dwell upon the land,
He chuckles at the self importance of these creatures who call themselves "Man".
"What a beautiful home they live on, but they barely pay attention!"
"Why don't They ponder the destruction they bring?
Their silliness is beyond comprehension!"
"They use, they take, they never replace! What kind of caretakers are these?"
"Don't they realize how lucky they are? She could shake them off like they were fleas!"
He seemed to be looking right at me, His glow became profound;
"I've seen it before you know. She won't keep You around."
"Humans" he scoffed, with a gleeful "tisk-tisk",
"Why do You think the Earth revolves around You?"
Now the clouds were rolling in thicker, obscuring his face from my view.
A freshening breeze had started, and I could smell rain arriving soon;
And so ended my evening chat, with Earth's brother the Moon.

That picture of the Moon in story books was also something I remembered Amit. His face really seemed more perplexed than smiling, but I decided to bring back his smile. I have no idea what it will take to bring about the change we need, there are so many people who just don't care. Peace, hugs and love my friend.
