The Red Stag Supperclub, located in northeast Minneapolis, is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) registered restaurant in Minnesota. Owners and sisters Kari and Kim Bartmann followed their vision to create a green building that balances environmental responsibility, resource efficiency and the comfort and well-being of their workforce. The design and construction team of Studio 2030 and WonderWoman Construction followed the LEED-CI guidelines from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the team anticipates a Gold LEED-CI Certification.
New technologies such as the using Dyson AirBlade hand dryers, European-style low flow toilets, and LED candles which flicker safely without the flame and give the aura of candlelight cut energy use drastically. Other sustainable measures taken include serving local & organic foods as much as possible, and the all-in-the-family recycling tactic utilizing the bar stools and beer can collection from Bartmanns' uncle's bar.
