GPS Speed sychronized to onboard video.

Used devices and tools: Coto GPS, Palm Tungsten T3, BT SirfIII GPS receiver, http://gpsvisualizer.com/, MS Excel, AVISynth, Sony Vegas, VirtualDub. Video and log taken on Ecce Homo uphill track in Sternberk, Czech Republic.

  • Awesome video! What program did you use to create the speed overlay?

  • I just posted a comment. I looked up Coto GPS and that appears to be the missing peice that I didn't know about. I now think I can probably get it done in Linux. I can use CotoGPS to log everything but I am wondering how I get it from CotoGPS to a text file that I can prase in linux.

    1. log with CotoGPS and export to some kind of text file

    2. parse text file with perl and output frames using GD

    3. convert images to a movie

    4. overlay movie on the other video
