Okay, I've remastered this Spock video tribute in iMovieHD. It's set to Gowan's "Strange Animal." The original video I did with two VHS machines ages ago, but the transfer to the computer resulted in the audio being off a bit. Enjoy this clearer version, matched to the music the way I intended.

  • you did this with vhs?? im impressed i didnt think MV's even existed before the internet (took over the universe) GOD i love this music video :D

  • Originally I did this with VHS. This particular version was made with Apple's iMovie, but the VHS version is available via the response link.

Music videos have basically been around since before MTV even. It's really only been since the evolution of the Internet that people have been able to make decent, semi-pro-looking vids and been able to share them with the world.

But you probably knew that already! :D

  • just curious, When was star trek in black and white??? I'v seen the TOS pilot and stuff never in B/W

  • When they first recovered the pilot from the archives, all they were able to find was a black & white print. The spliced then spliced this together with colour footage from 'The Menagerie'. Eventually, they colorized the black and white parts. When first released on VHS they released both the All-Colour version and the version mixed with B/W and Colour. They did the same for the DVD release.

  • One thing, however, some of the scenes that were in B/W vs Colour on the VHS are different from the DVD. The scene in this vid is an example actually. On the VHS it was in B/W, but colour in the DVD. Since it was B/W in my original VHS version of this video, I removed the colour from the same scenes when I did this remaster from the DVDs.

  • wow there is a huge difference b/t the VHS version and this one...

  • Thanks. The VHS copy I made for a friend, way back when, and it was good for what it was, but the update from the DVDs was definitely needed.

  • Mr Spock was just brilliant, he was by far one of the best characters out of Star Trek. Also for a man who had hardly any emotions he sure kissed a lot of women xD

  • Beautiful......Spock was the sexiest alien to ever grace the heavens.

  • Outstanding! Wonderful selection of themes, and the song works well. Thank you for sharing this!

  • cool :D i imagine that would take some doing actualy. and patience, i like it in B/W spock looks so cute and less-spockish.

  • HAHah i remembor seeing the video for "through the grapevine" by marvin gay..weither that was like the first music ever or not who knows. still im not sure if having imovie and windows movie maker is for good or evil. in this case GOOD shall reign but sometimes..online homemade mvs can make you cry with the horror.

  • SOOO good! This is such a nice song for Spock!

  • Ok, who is that getting hit at 0:55 - 0:57? Is that Ben Finney? B'cause it sure ain't Kirk! Its the first time it occurred to me but I think Kirk's stunt double is the guy who played Ben Finney in Court Marshal. If any of you trivia buffs can confirm, I'd love to know.
