These are helpers coming out of the west portal of Moffat Tunnel. They would push trains up the west side of the mountains and through the tunnel before uncoupleing & coming back through heading to Tabernash. They would then wait to couple onto another tran for the big push back up the hill.

  • I remember when they would stage in tabernash colorado for the coal trains as they met and connected to climb the rockies

  • I remember seeing some staged trains in the siding just west of Tabernash myself.

  • i went there 2 years ago, went to winter park. i sttayed there for 12 hours. i saw TWO trains!!!

    they were doing alot of work on the other side of the tracks
