Don't let it put you of hp cons!! nooo!

please don't be discouraged! a properly organised HP con is the experience of a lifetime!!! <3

I completely agree. I just recently got into the HP fandom (or rather, the events associated with it; ie wrock and cons) and I was really excited to go to Acciocon as it would be my first ever convention & I was sorely disappointed. It was poorly organized and there was barely anything to do with HP. Honestly, I felt like it was a waste of money. On Saturday, I even left and came back just for the wrock concert. It made me a little discouraged to go to other conventions.

I love that most of the related videos are all about Kellan Lutz.
Half the comments are probably from those same tweenaged twilighters who have never heard of Wizrockateers & only watched because they were looking for videos from the con.
The wrock parts of the con looked awesome. Too bad it was so unbalanced.

Hands down, this was the worse con I have ever been to and to say that AccioCon was a "joint" con is a flat out LIE. There was barely anything HP and anything HP that was there, people had scheduled Twicrap junk at the same time. This con was a joke, and they will be lucky to have any HP people back next year. Sucks for them considering the name they chose for their con is HARRY POTTER!

Dani, you are fantastic and brilliant, and it was wonderful to see you this weekend. :)

That's not what I was saying, though. I was trying to explain why so many Twilight fans went to the conference and so many Harry Potter fans either stayed away or went and regretted it.

I wanted to be there so bad!!
Come to Ohio!
1. I specified that we're "tired of dealing with the Twilight fans who are trying to compete with us"... not all the fans, just the ones who have abused me in the past, even though I considered myself a Twilight fan at one point, just because I like Harry Potter. I have a lot of friends who like Twilight.
2. The Harry Potter books are also about teenage kids. Most Harry Potter fans are also teenagers. I don't have a problem with the age, just the immaturity. It's not an excuse.

Hi, I miss you. And I've been reading all the twitter posts and hearing from Matt all weekend about this con.
My theory (and the reason why I didn't go) is because Harry Potter fans are tired of dealing with the Twilight fans who are trying to compete with us... so Twilight fans were more likely to go than we were. The books are completely different but Twilight fans still seem to think that these kinds of debates are worth wasting time on.
So I stayed home.
