MANILA, Philippines --The election watchdog Namfrel said today that postponing the May 10 national polls will "be more dangerous." For more videos, visit www.philstar.com
Namfrel council member Guillermo Luz said the Commission on Elections (Comelec) should push through with the country's automated polls with the proper safety nets put in place.
Luz announced that they will be doing a parallel manual count on May 10 with the help of political parties like Liberal Party and Bangon Pilipinas Party which will share their copies of the election returns with Namfrel. Comelec did not accredit Namfrel for the May 10 polls, thus disallowing them from getting copies of the ER. Namfrel is also seeking the help of the local media accredited by the Comelec.
