This is straight from the cameras without any color corrections and a rough comparison of the video clarity between Canon T2i DSLR camera and HV40 camcorder. Both shoot 1080p 24 frames video and both are excellent cameras for indie filmmaking. I was shooting an event locally at our residential area and I used these two cameras and edited them together. Both produced excellent video quality even though the lighting was not proper at the event.

  • I owned a DSLR for less than a year, and really started to hate the "DSLR look". Even though an EOS has the sharpness and DOF capabilities, it just doesn't look like film. It looked like "fake film" to me.

This is why I bought my old HV40 back. :)

  • @mark84j, I hate the DSLR look that comes from poor camera work. In my opinion in proper hands, DSLR footage looks as good as film. I have recently shot a music video with my new 5d and I am very much satisfied with the output. Please watch it on my channel home page and let me know if you observe the DSLR look.
