Another bizarre and hyper-aggressive piece by Romanian madman Iancu Dumitrescu, for Prepared Pianos and Metallic Plates and Objects.

  • This is really rather stressful actually ! :P

How the hell does he make all these sounds ? Electronic I hope, otherwise I have no idea how the hell he could achieve something like that.

  • No; there are no electronics in this piece at all. It's crazy.

  • I love me some alien stuff

  • I can't believe this piece was not made with electronics. The kind of piece I would love to SEE a performance. Mindblowing Amazing.

  • wait a minute .These are all acoustic sounds. Could be as interesting to my mind as Ustvolskaya .She is more violent with more obvious purpose. Here I just feel effect, free time ,accidental noises accumulating. Is this notated ? String vibrations and overtones. WOw ! But can it be done again or is it a little different every time this music is executed. Would like to see te score and its requirements! Good Music!

  • @borbetomagus Yeah, that last one really was just noise :P When it gets like that, I do tend to lose interest. And I'll try and hunt down some more Keith Rowe, get myself a better opinion of him. Thanks a lot for the links, mate !

  • @Selothi If you liked the Keith Rowe video, you might want to hunt down his CD 'Harsh'. Unfortunately it is out of print. If you do a search for -- "keith rowe" "very (extract)" - you can hear a four minute sample from the CD, which makes the video sound rather tame. If that isn't enough, perhaps you might enjoy a different kind of noise -- Masayuki Takayanagi (guitar) & Kaoru Abe's (sax) battle of wills from the live album - Mass Projection (1970) -- /watch?v=l3NuKt5sW_I

  • @borbetomagus Wow, thanks a lot for that ! The prepared guitar especially is really rather "nice" (if you can call any of this music "nice" ! :P ).

  • @Selothi According to the liner notes, it was made with prepared pianos and metallic objects. I imagine some contact microphones were also involved. You also might like David Tudor's version of John Cage's "Variations II' from 1961 for amplified prepared piano with various phonograph cartridges -- /watch?v=MEmf4T1L-vQ --- or the prepared guitar melodies of Keith Rowe (from AMM) -- /watch?v=HnUVpiFHhmM -- or John Cage's "Cartridge Music" (1960) -- /watch?v=DDK8Fi8FnRY -- Sweet Dreams!

  • yes, it is for a "old" Einstuerzende Neubauten - Fan like me a very GOOD music for Sacres relaxing :-)

  • You're joking ... Woah man, do you have any idea what's used to make those sounds then ? I'm intrigued.
