Father Knows Best. Light years better than today's shows like Modern Family.

The well-known"Whistle" theme for "Lassie" was actually introduced during the Jon Provost/June Lockhart era beginning in 1958. When the show premiered in 1954, starring Tommy Rettig, Jan Clayton and George Cleveland, the theme music, "Secret of the Silent Hills" was borrowed from a forgotten movie. See Lassieweb for details on the various "Lassie" incarnations during its remarkably long run on television.

Good lord. Lassie. We watched that occasionally. It was on forever! I don't remember Mulligan. Of course by 54 I wasn't paying attention to TV at night as much. I always thought Father Knows Best was a sappy knock off of Danny Thomas. December Bride was okay. Don't remember Climax. Secret Storm. Joan Crawford took Christina's job when she was sick.

I can remember watching the Lassie episode when Gramps had died. Actor George Cleveland had died, which was worked into the script.

In '54, Lassie's boy master was Jeff and they lived with their mom and Gramps...I think Timmie came along about '56 or '57
