It;s hard to see how you could call them "stock and repetitive."

JJ's got good technique but his soloing style is the very reason most people don't like listening to jazz. It doesn't make sense; full of stock repetitive licks which sound like they are from a method book.

I think that it is a Yamaha 691... it's been reported that JJ played that horn model late in his career.
And this is why I love this instrument...Can't wait 'til I go back to New Orleans to play big time. Gotta love JJ and his grace
