when people, especially women, have food security, they simply have fewer babies. It's happened for every one of the 120 or so countries that have achieved food security.
Yes, contraception is part of that, but so is women's freedom to choose, reduced infant mortality, better healthcare, and so on.

Stop talking crap. The Earth has finite resources that are running out. We can't sustain the population we already have. Billions of people live in poverty and starvation. This is worsened by the greenhouse effect as former arable land in Africa becomes desert.
Is there seriously enough oil for 36 billion people? At the rate we use it? No one in the green movement is calling for genocide. Population reduction can be achieved through ending poverty and access to contraception.
