The computer is a wonderful thing, isn't it? Through its miracle hearts alike can be united in feeling and thought. How I loved him when I was a kid, long ago. ...Spent hours learning everything I could off his records. Got so I played real good. But now, I listen, and remember and KNOW what I knew so deeply then: NO ONE will ever quite equal that magical, effortless touch. No one. Chet is a musical Angel, of another time and place. ...lost, and by the wind mourned, ghosts come back... JS

@daffydoug: I wish you could've known my dad while he was alive. He would've helped you. He played the 2nd best imitation of Chet's Liza I have ever heard. The best imitation was the man that taught my dad, & that man took lessons directly from Chet in the early 60's. I've been listening to Chet since about 1962. I appreciate others, but Chet influenced them all whether they realize it or not.
I admire you for your love of Chet's talent & keeping his music alive!

Ahhh, now I know wherefrom Ritchie Blackmore got the inspiration to put in a short bit of this on the live version of "Lazy", heard on Deep Purple's 'Made In Japan'

When I was a young teenager (never mind how long ago that was!) :) I was in a bad mood and generally feeling grumpy all day. I heard this song on the radio and it improved my mood for the whole day!
@daffydoug: Well, I must say....Liza is my #1 fav. Heartaches, Swedish Rhapsody, & Mr. Sandman are tied for #2, impossible for me to fav. them unequally. I have listened to Chet all but 3-4 years of my life. "GuitarSir" said it best: "the best guitar player ever lived on this planet. Period."

@MsOneDrop Amen. Chet was the best guitar player to ever hunch over that instrument. He could play ANYTHING. He was the total master.
Believe me, I've spent 44 years trying to pay like him, had countess sleepless nights. tons of sore hands and aching fingers, and am still in the starting gate when it comes to imitating Chet.
