This is proper steam-punk :L

OK. I was going with what I'd read of the difference engine. This was more advanced, so I guess it was just too much. I wonder in what year it would have become possible?

@SailorBarsoom That's not what I've read history-wise. It was a little too out of their abilities at the time to make the accurate parts needed out of metal (brass). Maybe someone somewhere could have done it. He tried and it just couldn't be done. Plus they ran out of money.

The difference engine could have been built at the time. I have to wonder if the analytical engine was right at the border of doable. Maybe if they'd gathered the finest watchmakers together and such. Well, the world will probably never know for sure.
