Although I already knew everything there was to know (and more) about this game, I had to watch out of compulsion. I share your pain as to how the DOS version of this game doesn't play normally. I can only imagine how much fun I would have with chip burning if only the DOS version played correctly. (Or if there's an Apple II emulator out there that supports blank disk emulation!)

I played this in 1988 at age 11 and finished it. Loved it to death. Always wanted a sequel.

Huh. Played a more recent game with a similar bumper-thruster thing. The goal was to get the robot to move through a particular course to the end without falling off any edges. It got tricky very quickly, since you couldn't rewire the robot in the middle of the level.

I haven't found Gertrude's Secrets *or* Gertrude's Puzzles. Granted, Asimov's really the only place I'm looking.
