Girl of my dreams - Climax Jazz Band 2008
In November 2008 An excellent film was made with seven cameras by cineast Fred Harshbarger and his team at a concert for the Arizona Classic Jazz Society.
The band is in superb form as well and my Dutch friend Jacques Vincken, who plays banjo in the band made be a copy available.
I know all the guys for years, but I am very impressed by cornetist Dave Kosmyna whos playing is just outstanding. His tone, his timing, his phrasing and on top of that he can sing as well. Dave has the advantages to be professionally trained but uses his technique in an absolute right way for playing old style classic jazz, and in this tune, first played in 1928 by Clarence Williams Jazz Kings, this comes out to the full extent. Bravo for Dave!
Other members in the band are Jimmy Buchmann saxello, Len Gosling trombone, Jack (or Jacques) Vinken banjo, Chris Daniels bass and Hal Smith drums
Love it! See my buddy Hal on drums,,,Great Music, great musicians,,,Good combination and it doesn't get much better than this!!

I think the Saxello is a soprano saxophone made by King in the 1920s(?)
