Let us (Letters) look at the cost of posting a letter
In 1840 it was 1d and it stayed the same for 78 years.
Today it costs 36 new pence that is 86 times as much!
This shows all of the definitive stamps that were used during this period

I enjoyed the video. You did a nice job, however I had trouble understanding the graphs.
I can't remember the cost of posting a letter when I left the UK in 1956.

In 1956 it was still 2½d (Old money) Yes the graphs were a bit fast, but you can pause the video at any time.
