LUMAR shows how 2D and 3D tracking can be efficiently combined with a static display, to enable a three-layered information space, where the mobile phone provides an augmented reality viewport into the real world.

The video shows a printout of an apartment floor plan. When the mobile phone is pointed towards the phone plan, a 3D model is overlaid in the mobile phone's display. The user may now interactively change the perspective to see the 3D model from different angles. The 2D tracking allows the mobile phone to display photographs from different rooms, as the phone is placed on top of different areas of the floor plan.
