  • I would love a civic ex diesel with manual trans. I hope the dealers don't gouge too much when the Accord diesels come out.

    A 2008 1.8L gas Civic gets 38mpg hwy, the Euro diesel, 60mpg. At the prices in the video, the gas Civic's fuel cost would be 8 cents per mile, while the diesel's is 6.15 cents per mile. That's 23 percent cheaper fuel cost! The hybrid comes closer at 6.8 cents/mile vs 6.15 cents/mile for the diesel. Diesel still wins!
