My life is not flashy, though it once was. Today, it feels very drab though. I feel at a loss and alone. I am divorced, holding down a mortgage that until last year was subprime--my state job meant I could refinance and now?--I don't know what is next in my life, but I am more concerned for those I teach. I've been through four recessions. They have been through only one and it's not over yet. What will these wonderful young people do if they can't complete their educations?
And Duffy sings in the background "Smashed up hearts hung up to dry. I know it's wrong. Hangin' on too long...."

Class - here I use several techniques to argue and persuade. What are they? And what about the end? What does the end say to you--think metaphorically again, not literally.
