Sakigake!! Otokojuku. - Japanese Anime on a Budget.

During the Story Arc involving the 1st Year Students Versus the 3rd Year Students of Otokojuku, either due to budgetary constraints, or the series being cancelled, ( The story does go beyond this Arc! ), a good majority of the epic battles the students faced were cut short in order to speed up toward the inevitable final confrontation of Tsurugi Momotaro Versus Daigouin Jaki. This included the second half of a match between Senkuu ( Polnareff's Blonde Brother ) and Togashi, Date and Toramaru Versus Rasetsu and Dean, Etc. It's truly amazing how they rush so tremendously quickly through these battles! - Suppose there is some merit to the "No More than 26 Episodes" curse. Sakigake!! Otokojuku only managed to last 34 Episodes and an Animated Feature Film. Oh, well! Enjoy!

This anime originally started as a parody on both shounen action anime and Japanese nationlism but somehow got a bit serious near the end.

Gekkou vs. Heikei: Heikei goes on a melee attack and Gekkou dodges them all. But Hekei used a boomerang to kill Gekkou. After that it shows Momotaro's team lost 3 guys (Toramaru and Togashi are shown to have survived their matches) to the other teams' 6, with Heikei and the leader Jaiki remaining. The battle between Heikei and Momo you can see for yourself. The final battle with Momotaro and Jaiki isn't shown on this video.

So Here's What happened...

Togashi vs Blonde Dude: Blonde dude dominated the fight his superior fighting skills, but Togashi's willpower and no quit attitude forced a draw.

Omito Date and Ryuji Toramaru vs Vine guy and Iron thumbs: Omito made quick work of Vine guy, but had trouble with the guy with the iron thumbs. Toramaru (the guy wearing just a loincloth gets his rear handed to him and gets thrown into the fire. Omito kills thumb guy by throwing him on a spike.

It's actually venom he poured on his hand. It covers his entire hand with deadly dosage so even a small scratch on your opponent can kill him. The catch is that the user will die to the poison after a while. It's a suicidal move, intend to end one's opponent or die trying. Needless to say the main character (Momo, the one with a sword) survived the fight.
