I go through the first episode of the Ultimate Doom in middle difficulty, using only classic controls (no mouse, arrow keys, Strg [CTRL], ALT and Space).
This is not a speedrun, by the way, altough i try to go fast in some zones. Between every stage i'll put some annotations later, but during the playtime i'll avoid them for not distracting you from the action.
This Doom is legal, the Steam version. You can purchase it here. http://store.steampowered.com/app/2280/
0:44 nothing special. First map, is an easy one. I went fast until I went over the acid pool. I got armor and ammo in preparation to the next stage.
1:57 Second map. Not very special; I knew there it was a secret in the middle but I forgot what side. And when i got it, I forgot to push the button to open the door leading to the chaingun.
4:13 My favorite map. I lost time in the room with the Rocket Launcher because i remembered that there it was a secret area, but I was unable to remember exactly where. After some seconds, i decided to continue. No, I didnt took the secret level, even if I had the opportunity.
10:16 Fourth map. The labyrinth was very easy because I never have forgotten the path: Straight, right, left. I could have done this map in just 20 seconds without having to get the gold key, using the Strafe50 trick, but I decided to go for the normal way instead.
11:25 I tried to avoid some enemies in the pool room behind the door locked with the Gold Key. That is why I went for the invisibility item before.
15:58 I hate this map. I always get lost at it (never memorized it). I expected to lose more time even- this one went well. Also I lost a lot of health at some point and I feared for my life.
23:45 This map is not confusing due to the keys and such. This map is difficult due to the ammount of enemies. I didnt have many problems since i was playing in "Hurt me plenty!", but if i were playing in Ultra-Violence, this would have been a true hell for me.
I tried to outrun the monsters after opening the gold key door, for shooting at them in my return, making it easier for me to deal with them.
29:36 Nothing to add. If I was picking and storing rockets, it was for using them here. This went okay.
Thanks for uploading this video; reminds me of how EPIC the original Doom really is. ^_^
