The conductor asked for more life in the second half of our soli section. Which means, of course, "Move around a little while you play".

  • how muck was that contrabassoon my regular bassoon coust 19,000 dollars

  • @patrick123453 Probably not muck more than your regular bassoon cost. This Contra is a Schreiber which was bought by the Orchestra here before I arrived in 1991. So I'm not sure exactly how much it coust back then.

  • my favorite symphony!

    nice playing.

  • Thanks. I love this symphony too. Odd thing was the 1st player had a family emergency so I had to sight-read that part in the concert. The guy playing second read the contra part. . .

  • @JayBassoon I just did some searching around online and found average cost today is £23,000 ( roughly $35,000 )

  • "The even more bored bass trombonist"

    That made me crack up.

  • Hahahahahaha, it's so true! That's exactly what it means. After I read the video info, I could not stop laughing while I watched. The next time you are asked for more life, you should get up and do a back flip.
