  • I got it all together, it boots up ok and seems to work but it gets warm fast and the battery dies easy....must be something shorting it out. Anyone know what to check? Thanks for video but wish you showed more detail about putting it together and less about keeping it clean. One second you are cleaning it then you show it put together with a rubber band without showing how so I figured you meant to tell us to retrace our steps but I missed something.

  • @scott805carp The only time I had one heat up was when I had in the wrong type of LCD when I did a lcd replacement. Take it apart and re-seat the cables. All of them.

  • You should NEVER use crazy glue (or similar) on a digitizer. This bonds it to the plastic. If you ever break the screen again, you'll have to replace the whole front half of the phone.

  • @shwndh This is not true. I have replaced some that have used super glue and it doesnt stick as well as you think. Another reason to use the tape I have and sell.

  • Is the LED ribbon removable, because I bought a whole new body, not just the digitizer..and the body didnt come with a LED ribbon...so im wondering if i should order it

  • @schwartzman93 Get you a hairdrier...heat it up and then remove it. Do not get it too hot just for safety.

  • This was a really helpful video and very well done, but I'm having problems on part two. When I power the phone back up, i get a black screen with a lot of colored lines. I've pulled the ribbon cable out and put it back in several times, but I get the same results. The menu and home buttons seem to work because I can feel the vibration, but I just get the black screen no matter what. anyone have any ideas for what I can try or should I just get a new phone?

  • I fixed my dad's Driod, Thanks!

  • @jpbauer79 Borken speaker? Or is it the mic thats bad?

  • Great video. The phone works, except I can't get my speaker to work. Have to use a headset. Any ideas

  • yeah i thought it was oretty weird to, its fine when the red cover isnt on and i have the battetry attached with a rubber band but when i put the cover on, and put the battery in, i get a black/white screen with alot of lines.yeah i thought it was oretty weird to, its fine when the red cover isnt on and i have the battetry attached with a rubber band but when i put the cover on, and put the battery in, i get a black/white screen with alot of lines...im going to re sealing thing the cables..

  • @nicosiab I have never heard of a screen going black cause of the back being put on. Make sure nothing is getting piched and your LCD cable is actually in there properly. Id take it back apart and re-seat the cables.

  • @nicosiab Ohhhhh....Well that is odd. What red cover do you mean? I only know of a red section over the earpiece speaker.

  • @cowsgonemadd3 im talkin about the red/orange base, where you put the battery in

  • @cowsgonemadd3 i didnt use glue when working on this , i bought the whole assembly

  • @nicosiab In the video I mentioned glue on the clear thing that senses when your face is next to is. You probably got glue on it. I now ONLY use tape. You gotta get that glue off for it to work or just take the lens out of the frame which is easy with a knife.
