The Whirling Dervishes are a sect of Islam taught to love everything. They dance while the musicians play. The Dervishes allow outsiders to view their religious ceremony. This was filmed at the Istanbul train depot (last stop of the Orient Express).

I think I would get sick,I don't have really good balance.I am a godless person,I don't believe in God but I believe in the right for others to find what makes them happy in life. This is something that may be new to people and as we all know anything new is looked at with a bit of fear, instead of trying to understand something we tend to shun it.To me this looks interesting and would be something to see in person one day.

I have seen this sacred performance. When you are there it is a real experience, it is mesmerising and beautiful. It was an evening that I will never forget.

You know it kills me to see some of the comments left in response to the video. Reading them makes me think some the commentators are either ignorant because they don't know better or it's ingrained. I have seen this religious performance and there is no drugs or other stuff used. It is really considered private and for the performers to allow the general public to watch is great.

Many Sufis and Sufi organizations are cutting their ties with Islam and consider themselves to be separate now.
Some say that the Sufis only wanted to hide their mystical practices in Islam to avoid being executed. Many depictions of Sufis have them looking like the Magicians that Muslims have preached against.
To me, I consider it a good thing that they decide to go back on their own.

They do not use drugs or mind-altering substances of any kind during their rituals.
