I'll be traveling here in june. i've heard many good and bad thigns about this resort. i also heard that the sun is blocked by the location of the hotel most of the day..is this true? just wondering what you thought of this hotel...

There are two Riu Palaces. Make sure you go to the Riu Palace Las Americas. While staying there, you have access to both Riu's, but not if you stay at the other. I never noticed the sun issue. However, they do have two pools and it may have affected one pool, but not the other. We spent most of our time on the beach. The rooms were great, the food was great. I recommend having your own mug or large cup for drinks because although the drinks are unlimited, the cups are small. We will go back.
