Keeping Adults Free of Institutions: Hope for families living with adults with severe autism. Despite extreme challenges, severely-autistic adult lives at home and remains part of his community. Shows importance of careful planning, advocacy, home support, community compassion and tolerance.

  • I hope our words - though far and distant from where you are located, will bless your heart and keep you strong. Thank you for being such a wonderful mum and caretaker to James, you beautiful human being!

    :)

  • @sketchyou Thanks so much. All these kind words I read to Jamey and he often smiles.

  • Your videos inspire me! I have a 9 year old son with "high functioning autism", but his lack of emotional regulation actually makes him very low functioning. I feel so isolated at times and grow resentful of everyone and everything around me. I found your videos at a time when I really need to see someone enjoying life, enjoying their son despite of and because of his autism! Thank you!

  • @PMac76667 I'm soooo glad they inspire you. People, including myself, often forget the challenges of raising HF (high functioning autistics)....Be strong and know you are not alone!

  • @streamofawareness He is a super person. I am so proud of him. Like so many autistic people, he has hidden potentials and I know he has a sweet heart from the way he has always interacted with his niece and nephew.

  • James is so precious :) I wish I could give him a big hug.

  • My daughter is high functioning, but we experience the meltdowns. So much is done for children who are autistic, but the adults seem to be left behind like they are all the sudden supposed to be cured. Thank you for giving this the attention it needs.

I could certainly use the chew necklace for my daughter. Might save me a few chewed up shirt collars!

  • @kgaccount *big smile* ;) <3

  • You are an amazing woman.. Stay strong..

  • Jamey you look sharp in that new haircut! --hugs from Gilda and Eddie

  • we love you Jamey!

  • @kgaccount I remember the video with the newborn baby. He has all the love, his way of showing it is just special and worth waiting for.
