He's saying it's difficult compared to RB2. In Rock Band 2, the notes are considerably smaller than in RB1. I thought the same thing as Potato the first time I saw this.

Yeah you can they are the smaller notes right after the big notes

3 and 1 aren't really hard for me(check out my channel, I have FC videos of both), but I can't do 2 at all. Any tips for it? Also, in Rock Band 1, you can't see hammerons at all. Nice Fc's, too.
