  • Sweet Lew Alcindor the best of the best at Center

  • Dunking wasn't allowed in college ball back then, there was an "imaginary cylinder" above the rim, I'd forgotten that until seeing Lew bank layups in this video.

  • The Bruins teams of the late 60's to mid 70's might be the best College Basketball teams of all time

  • this game made me a ND fan, but Bobby made me a IU fan. Mount was a great shooter and all purdue had really . UCLA had a lot more than just Lew.

  • what team wasn't back then dubbaCallday? The difference is, all those players would still have went to UCLA regardless of Papa Sam! That's the truth! I should know!

  • I'd be far more interested in seeing UCLA's semifinal with Drake. Drake almost beat them, but lost by three. This was one-sided by contrast.

  • UCLA had the talent, but, they also had a guy connected with the program named Sam Gilbert. There were rumors connected to him that he was paying them under the table and giving them gifts. Also, the tourney was different back then. There were only 25 teams, and their competition was weaker. They didn't have any all-time great team challenge them until the 74 Wolfpack.
